TULOK Biography

Ferenc Tulok was born in Budapest, Hungary on August 18, 1949. Although he always enjoyed painting, he did not consider that he could earn a substantial living with his talent. He initially began his studies by attending the Polytechnic University in Budapest from 1968 to 1973, earning a degree as a mechanical engineer. After graduation, he was employed by several companies in Budapest, but by 1989, Tulok had decided to solely work on his artistic pursuits.

Tulok has exhibited extensively in Austria, Denmark, Germany, England, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and the United States and has had several solo exhibitions in Hungary. For many years he painted his still-lifes on canvas; however, in recent years he has discovered the unique beauty of oil on copper and now prefers this medium. Tulok finds an unparallel iridescence and shimmer to the rich colors he employs on copper and, in addition, copper allows him to exceed the precision of other hyper-realistic painters, allowing him ultimate refinement in creating immaculate still-lifes that make the viewer question their realism.

Cosmopolitan Fine Arts is proud to represent the works of Ferenc Tulok.
