Pino Daeni

1939-2010

Pino is known for his exceptional ability to capture the movements and expressions of his subjects.  This talent has brought his artwork a worldwide following and an extensive catalogue of commissioned portraits.

Pino Daeni was born Guiseppe Dangelico, in Bari, Italy, on November 8, 1939.  His artistic ability was recognized early on and his father encouraged his son's precociousness.  He trained at the Art Institute of Bari, and later at Milan's Academy of Brera.  Pino's skills painting nudes and figures was heavily influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and Macchiaioli.

After establishing himself as a successful artist in Italy, he immigrated to the United States, where he continued his painting, adding book and magazine illustrations to his repertoire. He has appeared on major TV networks, been interviewed by international magazines and journals, and been featured in several prestigious exhibitions in New York and Boston.
