AN HE Biography

An He was born in 1957 in Canton, China. He moved to the United States in 1985.  This exceptionally talented artist, whose specialty lies in landscape and figurative painting, combines a traditional Chinese love of nature with French impressionism.  Throughout his childhood, An He was greatly influenced by the arts.  His father, a well known Chinese artist, first introduced him to painting.  By the age of 14, An He held his first one-man exhibit, and later that same year won his first national award.  The young artist continued to be commended for his unique artwork, receiving awards from the Chinese National Youth Exhibition and the Annual Provincial Exhibit.

In 1981 An He graduated from the Fine Arts College of Canton, one of China's top art academies.  While still a student, he was invited to join the All Chinese Artist Association.  As he was only 24 years old at the time, he was the youngest person to be chosen for this honor.  Since his acceptance into the All Chinese Artist Association, An He's paintings have been widely exhibited throughout China.

An He has won several National Art Excellence Awards in China and three of his works have been purchased by the Chinese Government for permanent display at the National Fine Arts Museum in Beijing.
