Gerhard Neswadba was born in 1941 in Ober-Ramstadt near Darmstadt, Western Germany.

The talents, which the artist Gerhard Neswadba possesses to a high degree, the masterful domination of form and a well developed heeling for harmonious colorism, are not everywhere as highly valued today, as they legitimately should be. Even so, the ability to draw well was a prerequisite for any artistic creativity in all periods of art history.

Neswadba belongs to the small group of genuinely skilled artists, who still have a perfect command of the basic foundations of their trade. Even if this does not fit into the concepts of some official art critics with their preferences for "isms", pop art and Happenings, he is justified by his success with the public, still endowed with a sentiment for genuine values. Today Neswadba is among the top group of the most reproduced artists of the present. Fine art reproductions of his originals are made all over the world and have a huge following.The originals themselves, characteristic collectors items, are masterpieces of the traditional school of painting.

Earlier on the artist participated frequently in exhibitions both at home and abroad, including Stockholme in 1968, Goteborg and Copenhagen in 1969 and Hamburg, Goppingen and Vienna in 1970. Henceforth however, disappointed by various inquiries, he desisted from these activities and presently he lives as a freelance artist in Vienna.

Some of Neswadba's works have been acquired by public collections, cluding the Graphic Collection, Albertina Vienna, Municipal Museum, Hamburg, and the Collection of the Ministry for Art and Education, Vienna.
