CATHERINE GRAWIN

A native Californian, Catherine Grawin has a deep love for nature and the California landscape. Her rapid and loose brushwork depicts her immediate impressions of light and shadow in the San Diego backcountry and coastal areas.

Catherine is a painting member of the La Jolla Art Association and the California Art Club, San Diego Chapter. She has studied under master artist Sebastian Capella of La Jolla, John Asaro, Joe Garcia and plein air painter Pat Kelly. She has exhibited in prestigious galleries in the Southern California region.

In 1982 Catherine received a B.A. degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at SDSU, with post-graduate work in architectural design and rendering. She currently owns her own graphic design firm, and she has been art directing publications and print media for nearly 20 years. Her true passion, however, is her painting.

Catherine’s future intention is to paint, travel and exhibit full time as a fine artist -- while documenting that which remains of California’s precious open spaces. Cosmopolitan Fine Arts proudly displays her work.
