| ANDRES GOMBAR |
|
Andres Gombar was born in 1948 in Budapest, Hungary. He was exposed to art at a very early age through his father, an internationally renowned graphic artist, and his sister, a costume designer for the Gybr Ballet Company. However, Gombar's exposure to art led him to the two dimensional world of painting.
Gombar is a realist whose work is rooted in Neo-Classicism and inspired by the unpretentious still-lifes of Jean Baptiste Chardin. Through his keen power of observation, Gombar captures the nobility in the simplicity of the everyday and convincingly renders an almost palpable space in his canvases.
