Alexander Nozal was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France in 1852. Nozal was primarily a landscape artist. His travels took him in Brittany, Berry, Normandy and southern France, and like many painters of his generation in Algeria.
Painter of water, it made such impressions on the banks of rivers, lakes and seashores, as well as twilight or in the morning mist. A major retrospective exhibition of his works was held in 1972 at the County Museum of Beauvais Oise. His works are also in the Museums of Bourges, Chalons-en-Champagne, Gray (Haute-Saone), Montpellier, Louviers, Pontoise, Paris and the Petit Palais and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille. He died in Paris in 1929. |
